School Day of Peace and Non-Violence
January 30th – School Day of Peace and Non-Violence
The School Day of Peace and Non-Violence was first celebrated in 1964. Its objective is to educate for and about tolerance, solidarity, agreement and respect for Human Rights, non-violence and peace. On this day, primary and secondary schools turn into instruments of peace and understanding among people of distinct occupations, races, cultures and religions.
The basic message of this day is: “Universal Love, Non-Violence and Peace.”
Furthermore, January 30th commemorates the death of the national and spiritual leader of India, Mahatma Gandhi, who was shot and killed by a fanatical Hindu on January 30th, 1948.
O videiro 30 de xaneiro celebramos o Día Escolar da Paz e da Non-violencia. A primeira vez que se celebrou foi en 1964 co obxectivo de educar po e sobre a tolerancia, solidaridade,concordia e o respeto polos Dereitos Humanos. Este día, as escolas convértense en instrumentos de paz e entendemento entre xentes de diferentes razas, culturas, relixións,…
Adermais, este día tamén conmemoramos a morte de Gandhi, lider espiritual e defensor da loita sen violencia que foi asasinado por un fanático hindú en 1948.

Proxecto Colaborativo Libro Virtual Gloria Fuertes
Comezamos o curso coas pilas ben cargadas gracias á concesión do 1º Premio Internacional en Innovación Educativa (Mod. D) polo Proxecto Colaborativo Libro Virtual Federico García Lorca da Fundación Telefónica. Por iso os profes do cole tomamos a decisión de participar no novo libro virtual que lidera Lourdes Giraldo sobre a poeta dos rapaces Gloria Fuertes.
Entre os obxetivos que nos plantexamos están:
– Coñecer a Gloria Fuertes,a súa persoa, a súa obra e o seu legado.
– Cantar as súas cancións.
– Memorizar as súas poesías e recitarlas.
– Copiar, ilustrar, dixitalizar o aprendido.
– Interpretar e representar algunha poesía.
– Leer poesías cortas e recrear outras.
– Compartir o noso traballo coa comunidade educativa mediante as TIC e cos membros do Proxecto Colaborativo Libro Virtual Gloria Fuertes.
Este ano, dende a aula de inglés, e seguindo co noso proxecto “Reciting poetry”, imos traballar a poesía de Gloria Fuertes como punto de partida para reforzar o aprendido na clase. Xa que os alumnos de 5º están aprendendo a describir físicamente as persoas que mellor que este sinxelo poema titulado Doña Pitu Piturra para comezar a nosa andaina.

World Poetry Day
World Poetry Day is on 21 March, and was declared by UNESCO in 1999. The purpose of the day is to promote the reading, writing, publishing and teaching of poetry throughout the world.World Poetry Day is an opportunity for children to be introduced to poetry in classrooms. It is a time when classrooms are busy with lessons related to poetry, in which students examine poets and learn about different types of poetry.
This year, in order to celebrate the World Poetry Day, each classroon is going to choose and recite a poem.

O Día Mundial da Poesía celébrase todos os anos o 21 de marzo e foi declarada pola UNESCO no ano 1999. O propósito deste día é promover a lectura, escritura, a publicación e a ensinanza da poesía por todo o mundo.
Esta data é unha boa oportunidade para introducir aos rapaces no mundo da poesía enchendo as clases con leccións relacionadas coa poesía nas que os alumnos coñezan poetas e aprendan diferentes tipos de poesías.
Este ano, para celebrar o Día da Poesía cada clase vai a elexir e recitar un poema.Para esta ocasión, e dado que estamos a celebrar o 75 aniversario da morte de Federico García Lorca, eleximos dous poemas que este autor escribíu para nenos. Aquí tendes os nosos poemas.

Butterfly by Federico García Lorca
During this school year, we are commemorating the 75th Anniversary of the death of the famous Spanish poet, dramatist and theatre director, Federico García Lorca.
Federico García Lorca wrote little poems for his sisters and their friends and the children of other writers.
That’s why we decided to include this poem in our Poetry Project.
O longo deste curso, estamos a conmemorar o 75 Aniversario da morte do famoso poeta, dramaturgo e director de teatro, Federico García Lorca.
Federico García Lorca escribíu pequenos poemas para as súas irmás e os seus amigos e, tamén para os fillos doutros escritores.
Este é o moito polo que decidimos incluir este poema no noso Proxecto de Poesía.

It´s winter time: let´s learn a new poem
Winter started last 22 December. Winter is the coldest season of the year and days are really short. But don´t be cross. There are lot of interesting , funny things to do. Either you can go outside and play with the snow, skate, skii or you can stay at home reading a great book and drinking a cup of hot chocolate.
O inverno comezou o pasado 22 de decembro. Esta é a estación máis fría do ano e, ademais, os días son moi curtos. Pero non vos enoxedes. Hai moitas cousas interesantes que podedes facer como sair a xogar coa neve, esquiar ou patinar. Pero tamén podedes ficar na casa lendo un bo libro e tomando unha cunca de chocolate quente.
Now, it´s time to go on working on our project about poetry. I have choosen this easy poem in order to celebrate that winter is all around us.
