Press Here , one of the three interactive picture books from Hervé Tullet, is a must have for Kindergarten classes because let children’s imagination run wild using only the most basic instruments .

Press Here is a wonderfull opportunity to have a low-tech interactive reading experience with your children and it provides the chance for working with numbers, colours, shapes, sizes as well as stimulate  children’s attencion and develop logical and reasoning skills.

Great book, I’d recommend it!

Press Here version

This book is an amazing source of inspiration for English lessons. I developed some different activities during last term and, even I made my own version in order to introduce the number 1 and reinforce colours and sizes in my 3-year-olds class.

Press Here Collages

A simple coordinating activity of dot collages  was a hit. The kids were very excited to make their own “press here” pages using only dot stikers and a sheet of paper.

Autumn Shape Trees

Autumn brings new colours thanks to the trees. Trees are beautifull in Fall: red, yellow and brown leaves on the branches and falling down. Red, yellow and brown leaves on the ground. Red, yellow and brown leaves blowing in the breeze. It’s so funny!

As you know, my 4/5-years-old children are developing an Etwinning Project called “Amazing maths”. During this term, we are working with shapes so, we designed an activity which allowed us to work both topics at the same time: The Autumn Shape Trees

Follas vermellas, amarelas e marróns no chan. Follas vermellas, amarelas e marróns voando na brisa.

First, we learn and practise these colours with this short funny song.

Now, we are ready to make our special Autumn trees.

Agora xa estamos preparados para facer as nosa árbores especiais de outono.

The children’s task was to colour the trunk  and then to cut and glue the shapes so as to represent the leaves from  the tree  in Autumn .We took this opportunity to review colours and shapes.

A tarefa dos rapaces consistiu en colorear o tronco e recortar e pegar as figuras xeométricas que representan as follas das árbores en outono.Aproveitamos a ocasión para repasar as cores e as figuras xeométricas.

Here you have our trees!

But first…..How many different shapes can you find in Shapeville?

There are shapes everywhere!!! Can you see them?

To start, choose the shapes you want to find and pick out shapes in different pictures.

Move the mouse over the picture to find the shapes. When you find one, click on it.

Podes velas?

We are good artists

I would like to show you what my 4-years-old are able to do. They are really good artists. As we are working with shapes, we were finding circles in different paintings. And finally, they became great artists. Take a look at this video.
